Yoga YOU-niversity: Moving Like a Cloud

Sharing a glimpse into my Sadhana, or daily practice, through this moving meditation.

What is Sadhana?

"The word “Sadhana” in Sanskrit means “methodical discipline to attain desired knowledge or goal," according to yogi Brett Larkin. It is a personal yoga practice, a withdrawing inward, a 100% you-focused moment.

Yogi Acharya Shree Yogeesh explains Sadhana in detail. He says "Sadhana is an inner phenomenon" and "spirituality is practicality." Meaning that Sadhana is something you must practice within yourself. Practicing yoga on a mat daily does not necessarily equate to Sadhana if you're not focused entirely inward.

Thank you sun.

Thank you clouds.

Thank you, big, blue sky.

With gratitude for each breath,

I breathe oxygen to every space in my body,

bringing the nutrients it needs to heal,

and replenish and be it's very best.

I honor my body for where it is,

and all of the movements I'm able to make.

Each inhale brings nourishment and expansion.

Each exhale, a surrender and letting make.

The spiral of my energy

in perfect harmony

with the world around

I come into balance with each inhale,

and with each exhale.

I pray for as much peace for the world

as I find for myself in the slow movement of my practice.

I am ready to float through the world

with the grace of a cloud.

Namaste.
